HCCYL RESPONDS TO CORONAVIRUS THREAT

On March 12, 2020 HCCYL-Little League was notified by LITTLE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL to postpone all baseball activities until April 6. At the same time Governor Breshear announced the mandatory closure of the Public School System until April 13. The school closure has also effected the school's sports programs, resulting in the postponing of all active seasons currently in progress.

In addition to the effects the Coronavirus threat is having on our local school system, we have now seen the effects of the virus threat to collegiate sports and professional sports...with the NCAA tournament being cancelled, NBA season cancelling as well as the postponement of other major sports, including golf with the recent announcement of the Masters being postponed! What a crazy time we are living in!

In response, HCCYL-Little League has decided to adhere to the Governor's request by postponing our season until the April 13 deadline. What does this mean?

1. The registration period will be extended through APRIL 5.
2. Mandatory Evaluations WILL BE CANCELED.
3. Draft will now be scheduled for APRIL 13 & 14. Time and location will be announced closer to time. Remember, this is a COACH ONLY EVENT.
4. The practice season will begin Thursday APRIL 16. Practice schedules will be delivered by your coach @ your first team practice.
5. Season opener will be the week of MAY 4. Game schedules will be posted prior to the practice season ending.
6. We will shorten the season by 2 GAMES...meaning, our mandatory game requirement will be modified from 12 to 10.
7. We anticipate the end of the season by JUNE 30; which does include the Spring Tournament.
8. REGISTRATION FEES WILL BE DECREASED $20 DUE TO THE SHORTENED SEASON.
*If you have already registered, HCCYL will begin immediately to REFUND the $20 to the credit card used during registration.
** Please allow 2 weeks in order for HCCYL to process your refund. You will receive email confirmation when its complete.

We appreciate everyone's understanding of the measures the HCCYL Little League Board of Directors have put in place in response to the Coronavirus threat. We are committed to ensuring the health of your players while continuing to promote and offer youth sports to our community.
